Nokia N8 : An Overview
Nokia has come out with their newest version of their Smartphone, the Nokia N8. Its dimensions are pretty typical for a smartphone and it weighs less than 140 grams. Incredibly, the Nokia 8's battery can give you up to 6 hours of talking time on any 3G network. It also features 16 standby days and it can also do up to 7 hours of media playback or 50 hours of digital music playback. You can get the Nokia N8 in a variety of colors including: green, blue, orange, silver white and dark gray. More than likely, Nokia will come out with limited editions colors at some point in the future.
The operating system powering the N8 is the new Symbian^3. Most smartphones already use the Symbian OS, but the Symbian^3 is the newest in the line. The N8 is the first phone to run it. A couple of other great features are the touchscreen, which supports flick scrolling and pinch-to-zoom, and the customizable homescreens, which allow convenient access to your favorite apps and widgets.
With the hardware acceleration that the phone offers, you can work with both 2D and 3D graphics to make a more expedient journey through the features of your phone. Memory management is one of Symbian^3's strong suits, enabling you to multi task much faster and run applications in tandem if you wish.
The N8 can also be used a a portable entertainment center, able to produce HD quality video and Dolby Surround Sound when you connect the phone to a home theater system. You can also connect to Web TV with the N8, allowing access to such channels as CNN, Paramount, E! and National Geographic through your phone. You also have access to a number of other content through Nokia's Ovi Store.
You can connect to a number of social networks automatically with the N8 and stay up-to-date with your social circles, as well as the great Web TV features and other Ovi Store apps you can use. You can record in high definition with the 12 megapixel Carl Zeiss camera and you can edit these videos or any pictures you take with the inbuilt photo editing software. The camera is of superb quality with a larger sensor than most compact cameras and a great Xenon flash.
When it comes to social networking sites, the Nokia N8 is your perfect gateway. You can tell people what you are up to and share your photos via Twitter and Facebook, also catching up with what other people are doing at the same time. You can synchronize your calendar with the phone's calendar, so you are apprised of all manner of events. When you get the Nokia N8, you get the Ovi Maps GPS navigation, allowing you to get wherever you want quickly without getting lost.
