Nokia N8 : An Overview
Contact Solo Communications Technology Information For Today and Tommorow.
Nokia's new addition to their smartphone range is the N8. With a large number of different features and technologies it is sure to be a close competitor to the popular iPhone. What makes the Nokia N8 doubly special is the use of Nokia's new Symbian ^3 operating system. At the top of the list of features comes HDMI support for videos and a 12 mega pixel camera with a Carl Zeiss optimized lens. Although the HDMI connectivity will be non-standard, it does support Dolby Surround sound so movie playback on a large screen in your sitting room will be better than ever. With the ability to record high definition video comes a software package built into the phone enabling you to edit your home movies on the fly. A standout feature of the Nokia N8 is the large 3.5" LCD display. It will support a resolution of 640 x 360 widescreen and will be able to display up to 16.7 million colors. Along with the touch screen system, it will also contain a compass, a proximity sensor, an ambient light detector and an accelerometer. Nokia's new addition to their product line up is a clear attempt at competing directly with the Apple iPhone. There is, or will be, a mass of downloadable content available through the Ovi store including access to Web TV with media from companies like National Geographic, CNN, E! Entertainment and Paramount. Social Networking is another feature that the Nokia N8 flourishes in. Updating your Twitter or Facebook status is as easy as downloading an application to do everything for you. To summarize, the Nokia N8 promises to deliver the customer a very convincing rival of either the popular iPhone or Blackberry, containing features that bring it right to the forefront of modern mobile phone technology. Once it is released, there will be nothing to stop it helping Nokia maintain their status as the biggest mobile phone manufacturer on the planet.
