Remote Working Part 3 – The basic implements

Quickbooks Login

Self discipline more….

Before I present to you my collection of my favourite web tools that almost certainly help you to operate remotely, I need to write about one more pearl of wisdom related to self management and especially to do with keeping your focus and powers of concentration

I’ve discovered and established a consistent behavior in men and women who work on the net and I’ve known for over a long time line and I call this habit the 50 minute effect. I identified these colleagues who concentrate and work for fifty minutes and then pause for a complete ten mins. break and are much more efficient and produce a significantly better quality of work than friends who don’t have such distinct working methods.

OK as promised here is my list of favourite remote working web applications:

E-Mail

Google Mail is free. My friends and I all agree the search and label (a bit like folders) functions are superior to anything I have previously seen. So far the only gripe I have is that it runs a bit slow on not so new PC’s

Phone calls

Skype
continually perplexed me as the call stability was down right horrible, but three cheers for the developers at Skype now as they have substantially changed the quality of the service. For few dollars a month ! am able to call and conference in any handset and Skype subscriber on the planet. The latest edition of Skype has a wealth of very practical functions and there constantly expanding collection of practical add on applications.

Organising Content

Evernote
has secured in excess of a million users in a very short space of time – it enables you to store, organise and add notes to any type of digital content on the net. Just go check it out…it’s free.

Invoicing, Time and Expenses capture, Accounting and CRM

You definitely know that my burning desire to work remotely was originally inspired by Quickbooks Online, a small business accounting software web application. But it simply doesn’t even come close to the free edition of salesorder.com – a lead to cash system that’s as easy to use as a pc mouse I looked at NetSuite whose pricing (and people) scared me off. My choice here is salesorder.com – Go check it out.
